Hello Dolls,

I was recently asked by someone: “can you wear a maxi dress in the winter?” The answer to that question is yes, however there is a different approach to wearing the maxi dress in the winter rather than in the summer.

First off when looking for a maxi to don in the colder months is about that base, bout that base! Sorry I couldn’t resist lol. In all seriousness make sure you are choosing a dress with fabric that is heavy enough to withstand the winter winds.

The dress should be in line with winter trends. This means don’t just grab your summery maxi and throw a sweater over it. Free People has a great selection of maxi dresses that can be worn in the winter and warmer months.

The shoes depend on the weather. A nice bootie usually works. If it’s not snowy or icy which is rare for us Minnesotans, a pump can work with a more formal outfit.
