The great thing about the 4th of July weekend like so many other holidays; is that there are usually a plethora of sales! Since we are still in the middle of summer it’s great to have a mid season sale to freshen up your wardrobe!
When shopping a sale it’s a great opportunity to get that piece you’ve been longing to get and to try a new trend. It’s also a great time to snatch up a few pieces for the Fall season that may be hanging around in the sale section from last season!
Below I will show you a few of my faves from a few of my go-to stores!
My gosh it’s been forever since we spoke so I apologize! To give you an update; I had another baby so I’ve been insanely busy and tired π€
However, now that we’ve settled into a sorta routine I will be blogging once a week! So be ready to hear more from me!
Now on to the fashion!
I can’t believe how quickly the 4th is coming up! It seems as if I was just getting done with Easter now it’s already the end of June!
I love Independence Day! It’s usually hot and it’s a great day to be outside and hang with family and friends. It’s always fun to dress in America’s colors while doing it! However, I’m a firm believer in making sure outfits for holidays aren’t super “cliche looking!” I believe it’s important to purchase pieces that can be worn more than once and easily incorporated into your everyday wardrobe. You can easily add accessories to make your outfit look more patriotic!
First, a classic look that’s always an option-shorts!
A pair of chic shorts in classic denim or white would be a perfect choice to celebrate the 4th of July! Shorts are great for wearing to picnics and other outdoor events!
Next, leggings! This athleisure fave is a no brainer if you want to be comfy and stylish at the same time! Make it work for the hot weather by switching out leggings for a pair of biker shorts instead! Pair with flats and a tunic top to give it a daytime look rather than looking like you’re about to hit the gym!
Thanksgiving as you well know is this Thursday! If you still find yourself unsure of what to wear I have a few ideas that will hopefully ease those worries. Now I know we are only going to be walking from the living room to The dining room to the basement and back again! However, it’s great to look good while doing it!
My go-to is a maxi dress! A maxi allows you to move around freely and not worry too much about being cold. If you’re in a super cold climate like me(Minnesota) you should still opt for tights; however the long length adds that extra layer of warmth! Photo Credit: J.Crew.comPhoto Credit: J. Crew.com
Another personal favorite is the versatile midi dress! It’s long enough to say “hey I’m fancy” yet at the same time is short enough to were you aren’t having to walk around holding your dress up!
Classic lace is always an option! A lace dress is perfect for being your dressy go-to! You know that you’ll instantly feel fancy when you slip on a lace dress!
A slip dress is a great versatile option and would be perfect with a sweater layered over it! Make sure the sweater is a bit slouchy so go up a size if needed!
Note: Technical Glitch! For whatever reason the link to the slip dress and sweater below are at the top of the post! Both from J. Crew!
I honestly canβt believe that The 4th of July is next week! June seems to be flying by! When putting together my Independence Day look; I like to keep it Chic and not too over the top. This way, the outfit can be worn beyond the Patriotic Holiday!
I have chosen a few chic pieces to mix and match for the 4th of July and Beyond!
When you think of dressing up for Valentine’s Day, a slinky little red dress usually comes to mind. However, if like me you live in a cold place, that’s just not a good idea. Though every year when I’m out at dinner I see many women donning ridiculous little dresses with no tights despite the subzero temps! Even I have been guilty of not so-smart winter dressing! Alas this year I decided on warmth! I know that whether you are hanging with the girls or your beau you want to look extra glam on Valentine’s Day! I will show you a way to do it and not risk frostbite, at least not too much of a risk!
I absolutely love sequins and shiny things! Now for me I will wear a full length sequin dress for a Target run! However, sequins are a great way to show off your fancy side and depending on how you wear it still stay warm!
I chose a maxi sequined dress and paired it with a long plaid shirt! The shirt helps tame down the extreme exuberance of the sequins. I paired the sleek ensemble with versatile neutral strappy pumps and because I live in Minnesota a stylish pair of socks! Now you can choose any “fancy” socks however I choose these because it’s super cold in Minnesota and further makes the look work for a dinner out rather than a ball!
I hope you enjoy your Valentine’s Day! Remember whether you’re in a relationship or not you are beautiful and lovely!

As we approach the New Year it’s always easy to look back on what we could’ve done and should’ve done better. I just want you to know that you don’t need to get down on yourself for missed goals or not achieving what you feel you should have.
A new year means new goals and possibilities. However, you don’t have to wait for a New Year to start over. Each day is a New Day with a new chance to make the improvements you wish to make!
With that said, if you don’t have fancy plans for tonight don’t worry about that! Give yourself permission to have a Cozy New Year’s Eve!
I’m loving the shoulder baring trend which is flattering on almost everyone!
This trend is one of my faves because the hint of bare skin is just enough to be flirty yet demure enough to be sweet!
Wearing Off-the Shoulder looks great casually or dressed up. For a dressy look that you could wear on a date or a night out try a dress with a clutch and strappy sandals!
No matter how you decide to wear the trend make sure to keep the look simple and keep accessories to a minimum. Most importantly have fun!
Until next time, stay chic dolls π
