A place where fashion lives!

Crops and Bustiers, how to Rock Them!

Lately there has been a resurgence of the crop top. The first people to revive this trend of course have been celebrities; which of course always have license to be bold and daring with fashion. A lot of people tend to think that this trend isnโ€™t for them because the thought of baring skin near the midriff is frightening. However, this trend is actually doable not only for night but also for day. The key to wearing this look is balance, you have to proceed with caution when choosing to bare a little skin.

Crop Top for Day

For a daytime cropped ensemble it is best to keep the look simple. Choose a cropped tee and tie a side knot or buy a top that is cropped to a point that wonโ€™t show too much skin. A maxi skirt with a high waist makes this look daytime appropriate, pair it with wedges or flats and a chic bag.

Bustier for Night

I really love bustier tops! Again, with this skin baring look it is best to err on the side of caution. Balance out the bustier top with a loose fit bottom. Wear a high waist skirt that hits at the knee. If you donโ€™t feel comfortable wearing that alone, pair the bustier and skirt with a short length lightweight jacket. Finish your look with a large clutch and pointed toe pumps.

A few more tips

  • Make sure that you are not showing bellybutton. If you are showing bellybutton than you need to make an adjustment.
  • Keep it simple
  • Feel free to mix and match both day and night, however if you feel uncomfortable you are probably showing too much skin.
  • Have fun!
