Pants-Beyond the Blue!

As you probably know by now denim and pants have been seen in a variety of colors and prints this spring shopping season. Commercials and print ads are showing everyone wearing them. However, it seems as if this trend has popped up out of nowhere and yet again it is an overload of a new trend that may have you thinking where do I begin and is this trend right for me? To answer that question yes, you can wear this trend it is just a matter of making it fit your personality and body type.

I love all the fun colors and prints that are on the scene this season. Bright colors kind of make me think “how can I be in a bad mood, I’m wearing bright yellow!” There isn’t really a right or wrong choice as far as color is concerned however dressing for your body type should be kept in mind.

General Guidelines for Embracing the Trend!

Body Types:

Curvy/wide hips Body Type: Stick to darker colors in a flare or boot cut style this works best to elongate legs. Straight leg and boyfriend cut denim and pants work well because it skims the body and creates the streamlined look you want to go for. Wide-leg pants works well on a hippy figure as well.

Straight Up and Down Body Type: Prints and light colored denim and pants can be worn in a skinny jean for a chic look. With this body type printed denim and pants can amp up the look of narrow hips and slim legs to create a more curvaceous silhouette. Wide-leg shaped pants and denim add volume to a small bottom half.

Perfect Pairings:

In General keep the tops you wear neutral in tone the goal is to look put together and stylish, your look should be effortless. Wear simple accessories including nude colored shoes. Bags should be structured to keep the look from being sloppy.

In conclusion here is the long and short of how to wear the fun trend of printed and colored denim and pants. These are general rules and of course there are always exceptions to the rules.  I suggest sticking to the guidelines until you are sure you have a firm grip on how to style this look for you. Because this look can go one of two ways fast;really chic or really clownish and of course the goal as a Ruby Madison woman is always to look super chic! As always if you have a question ask!
